Is Burn Boot Camp for Weightloss?

Boot camp workout classes are a popular option for many people looking to lose weight and get fit. In this article, we look at whether or not Burn Boot Camp classes are designed for weight loss or best suited for strength training.

What is Burn Boot Camp?

Burn Boot Camp classes were originally designed for women, to empower and encourage them to make time for themselves. To support this idea, all Burn Boot Camp locations offer free childcare during classes. Each class is 45 minutes long and every Sunday is a rest day. Classes follow a schedule of alternating strength and conditioning days, ensuring that you don’t burn out even if attending Monday through Saturday.

What are the different classes for?

Each strength and conditioning workout is designed to challenge your body, using dynamic exercises facilitated by a trained professional. Each workout includes a warm-up, an extra challenging finisher. During class, your trainer will move around and offer personal suggestions to improve form, push yourself, or alternative exercises.

The workouts on offer each week are:

Metabolic Conditioning

This workout helps to improve the amount of energy your body stores and releases. These exercises vary from moderate to high intensity and will have you sweating in no time.

Bodyweight Conditioning

This workout uses your own bodyweight to improve strength. Additionally, this workout will improve your overall fitness level through cardiovascular health. These exercises utilize the resistance of gravity through particular movements to improve overall health.

Core Strength and Conditioning

This workout focuses on strengthening your pelvis, lower back, stomach, and hips. Better core strength helps to improve balance and posture. Throughout this workout you will feel the burn, and notice the benefits right away.

Full Body Strength and Conditioning

This workout focuses on improving your overall body strength and cardio. These exercises help to build overall muscle while improving overall health. Expect to use a variety of weights, resistance bands, and other equipment during this class.

Upper Body Strength

This workout targets the upper body, in particular your arms, back, chest, and shoulders. These exercises help improve posture, and strength while reducing the risk of injury from daily tasks. Expect to use a range of weights during this class.

Lower Body Strength

This workout targets the lower body, in particular your glutes, hips, legs, and lower back. These exercises help you to build foundational muscles while improving overall movement. Expect to use a variety of equipment like steps during this workout.
